FAQs

  1. How do I set up an account?

Setting up an account is easy and can be done here

  2. How will I know if my order has gone through?

Once you've completed the payment and artwork upload process, you will receive an order acknowledgement to confirm that your order has gone through successfully, followed by an order confirmation detailing the order turnaround time.

  3. What files do you accept?

We accept PDF format artwork only. Please upload a print-ready PDF, ensuring it is a high resolution as possible - especially using photography elements in designs.

To find out more go to the Artwork Requirements Page

  4. Can I receive a proof?

To keep production moving quickly, we don’t usually offer proofs for our online print orders. This lets us focus on fast, efficient turnaround without adding extra steps to the process.

Our team checks every file before printing to make sure it’s suitable for production, so you can be confident your order will be printed exactly as supplied.

If you’re placing a large or particularly detailed order and would like to see a printed sample first, just get in touch - we’ll let you know if it’s possible and any costs involved.

  5. How do I cancel my order?

Once an order has been placed, it immediately enters our production queue to maintain fast turnaround times. For this reason, we’re usually unable to cancel or amend orders once they’ve been submitted.

If you do contact us before your item has gone to print, we’ll do our best to help — but we can’t guarantee that changes or refunds will be possible.

If you have any concerns about your order, please email studio@signslabelshereford.co.uk and our team will advise on the available options.

  6. Can I make an order over the phone?

Unfortunately, we aren't able to accept orders over the phone.

If you're having trouble ordering online, please contact us or fill out this form

  1. Do you print in RGB or CMYK?

All of our printing is produced in CMYK colour mode, which is the standard for professional printing. When preparing your artwork, please make sure the colour settings are set to CMYK rather than RGB.

Files supplied in RGB, which is designed for screens, are automatically converted to CMYK before printing. This conversion can cause some colours, particularly bright or neon shades, to look slightly different once printed.

Checking this before uploading your artwork will help ensure your colours print as expected.

  2. Do you have any templates to use as a guide when designing?

We have a range of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign templates that can be found on each product page under Downloads / Resources. If there is something you cannot find within this range, please contact us and we will be happy to assist.

  3. What is the turnaround time?

Most orders are completed within 3 to 4 working days. Turnaround begins once we’ve received your artwork, payment and order confirmation. It ends when your order is either collected by our courier or ready for collection from us.

Please note that delivery time with the courier is separate from our production turnaround and may vary depending on the courier network.

If we expect your order to take longer than usual, we’ll do our best to let you know by phone or email.

Turnaround times can occasionally be affected by artwork or payment issues, and we cannot be held responsible for delays caused by these.

  4. What if i'm not in to sign for my delivery?

If no one is available to receive your delivery, the courier will usually leave a card or send an update with re-delivery options. In some cases, they may attempt delivery again the next working day.

If you know you won’t be available, it’s best to provide an alternative delivery address or safe location when you place your order. Please note that once your parcel has left our workshop, we have limited control over re-delivery arrangements.

If a delivery is returned to us because it couldn’t be completed, a re-delivery charge may apply.

  5. What are trim, bleeds and safe margins?

When setting up artwork for print, it’s important to include trim lines, bleed and safe margins to make sure your design looks exactly as intended once printed and cut.

Trim lines show where your product will be cut to its final size. Anything outside the trim line will be removed.

Bleed is the extra area that extends beyond the trim line. This prevents any thin white edges from appearing if there’s a small shift when trimming.

Safe margin is the space inside the trim line. Keeping important text and logos within this area ensures nothing is accidentally cut off.

Allowing for these three elements helps guarantee a clean, professional finish every time.

  6. Artwork fixing service

    Artwork Fixing Service

If your file isn’t quite print-ready, we can help. For a small fixed fee, our artwork team can make the necessary adjustments to prepare your file for production.

This service is designed for minor fixes such as resizing artwork, adding bleed, or correcting simple layout issues. It does not include creating new designs or redrawing artwork from scratch.

Once complete, you’ll receive a print-ready PDF that’s ready to upload with your order. All prices are confirmed once we’ve seen the artwork and assessed the work involved.

Please note that this is not a proofreading service. We recommend checking all spelling, grammar and details carefully before submitting your file.

    How to Request This Service

If your artwork does not meet our print requirements, we’ll contact you to offer our artwork fixing service before production begins.

If you’d like to request the service yourself, please email studio@signslabelshereford.co.uk with your order number and a brief description of the issue. One of our team will be in touch to confirm next steps and costs.
